Argentine Stem Weevil
- General Information
Populations of Argentine Stem Weevil will have 2-3 generations per year, with the 2nd and 3rd generation overlapping resulting in large populations at various life cycles. Adults emerge from September and become active when temperatures are over 10 degrees. Damage usually occurs from November to February. Symptoms of damage initially occur as the plant begins to yellow when larvae are feeding withi the stem. The injured turf plants then turn straw coloured, exhibiting symptoms similar to drought stress or localised dry spot.
